In
September 2008, following the purchase of Oakley Wood by Warwick
District Council, a small group of locals decided to
form The Friends of Oakley Wood - to encourage enjoyment and an
appreciation of this unique, valuable, local asset - for all to
benefit and to liaise with the Warwick District Council as to
the future of the Wood.
News Bulletin : WDC have advised
us that the planned thinning of 30% of the wood this autumn has now
been postponed due to difficulty getting planning permission to
build a short road into the wood for access. The thinning will be put
off until Autumn 2011. We are seeking more details and will post
more news when we have it.
A
gentle reminder to any members reading this that you will have
received an email regarding this year’s subscription giving details
so you can easily pay the £2 sub by electronic transfer. We
really do need your support to be a stronger ‘voice’ when talking to
Warwick District Council.
